Government of Yukon: Building a Complete Identity Ecosystem Together
From Physical Credentials to Digital Identity — A Trusted Partnership with Veridos

What began as a modernization initiative for Driver’s Licenses and Identification Cards has evolved into a long-term strategic partnership between Veridos and the Government of Yukon. Today, Veridos supports Yukon across multiple identity programs — from physical credentials to digital identity verification helping the territory deliver a modern, secure, and future-ready identity ecosystem.
Modernizing Driver’s Licenses & Identification Cards
Veridos was initially engaged by Yukon Highway Public Works to provide secure production, personalization, and fulfillment services for Yukon’s Driver’s License and Identification Card program.
Working closely with Yukon stakeholders, Veridos delivered a complete end-to-end identity solution that included:
- Card design consultation and development
- Manufacturing of secure polycarbonate cards including advanced security features
- Secure laser engraving personalization
- Centralized fulfillment to Yukon residents
The upgraded credentials introduced a modernized card design aligned with Yukon’s visual identity while significantly improving security, durability, and fraud resistance. All cards are securely produced and personalized at Veridos’ secure facility in Markham, Ontario.

Transforming Yukon’s Health Care Insurance Plan Cards
Following the success of the Driver’s License and ID program, Yukon expanded its partnership with Veridos to modernize the territory’s Health Care Insurance Plan cards. The initiative replaced legacy paper label-based health cards with highly durable, laser-engraved polycarbonate cards designed to improve security and reduce the risk of fraud.
The new healthcare cards provide:
- Enhanced durability and longevity
- Improved fraud prevention
- Secure laser-engraved personalization
- Centralized secure issuance and fulfillment
- Readiness for future photo-enabled healthcare cards
This modernization initiative enhanced the security, durability, and reliability of Yukon’s healthcare identity credentials while supporting efficient centralized issuance across the territory.

Security & Innovation
Every Driver’s License, Identification Card, and Health card issued to Yukon residents includes Veridos’ advanced FUSE ID security feature. This state-of-the-art technology delivers enhanced protection against counterfeiting and tampering, helping make Yukon’s credentials among the most secure identity cards in North America. Combined with durable polycarbonate construction and secure laser engraving personalization, Yukon’s credentials are designed to provide long-term security, reliability, and citizen trust.
Enabling Secure Digital Identity Verification
As Yukon continues to expand their digital government services, the territory required a secure method for citizens to verify their identities online. Building on its trusted partnership with Yukon, Veridos developed a secure User Portal that digitally verifies Yukon-issued identity documents, allowing residents to securely access online government services using either a mobile device or desktop computer.
The solution enables:
- Secure online citizen authentication
- Trusted identity verification using official Yukon credentials
- Convenient remote access to government services
- Improved accessibility for residents across the territory
This initiative represents the next evolution of Yukon’s identity ecosystem — securely connecting physical identity credentials with digital government access.
A Partnership Across the Full Identity Lifecycle
The partnership between Veridos and the Government of Yukon demonstrates the value of a true end-to-end identity partner. From secure physical credentials to digital identity verification, Veridos continues to support Yukon in delivering trusted, citizen-focused identity solutions that are secure, scalable, and future-ready.
Together, Veridos and Yukon are building a connected identity ecosystem designed to meet the evolving needs of citizens today — and into the future.
